A.I.M.A.A IRELAND NATIONAL
TESTING - JUNE 2010 LIMERICK!

On Sunday the 27th of June, A.I.M.A.A Ireland
held its National Black Belt testing in Limerick. This testing
brought together many A.I.M.A.A Ireland Instructors, students
and family members to witness the future of A.I.M.A.A test in
front of the A.I.M.A.A Masters and Senior Instructors.
Everyone lined up as each A.I.M.A.A Master
entered the room. Miss Quintella Walsh, the AIMAA Ireland
National Secretary made a speech, welcoming everyone to the
testing. She quickly moved onto Introducing the testing panel
one by one. First to be introduced was Mr Michael Fitzgerald who
is testing himself in the USA, at the A.I.M.A.A Summer Camp for
6th Degree. Mr Fitzgerald was followed by Master John Kirkwood
who is the A.I.M.A.A Scotland Director, and no stranger to
everyone in A.I.M.A.A Ireland. Our next Master to be introduced
was Master Peter Byrne, who is the A.I.M.A.A Ireland Director
and has been at the forefront of A.I.M.A.A for many years in
Ireland. Last and not least was our very own Master John Darcy,
who is the European Director and the leading voice for A.I.M.A.A
in Europe.
The testing kicked off with the high red belt
students, who had to undertake one-step, various patterns,
sparring, and line work! The students ranged from young children
to adults and the standard was very high! Next on the floor was
the Black Belts who where aiming for 2nd and 3rd Degree! Many of
these fine students did an outstanding job and excelled in their
testing. These students exploded from one testing element to
another and loved every minute of this gruelling test! The
testing lasted over 3 hours and everyone was elated, exhausted
and thrilled to be part of this amazing testing in Limerick.
Each Instructor who had students testing that day where
immensely proud of their students and everyone was thrilled to
be there. To view the testing Gallery
